Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for a Housing Manager on a 2 months contract with a possibility of an extension.

Main purpose of post

To be responsible for the overall management of a patch of Council tenancies and other housing assets and the coordination of a range of housing services to individual tenancies, estates and communities in accordance with council policies. Ensuring that a proactive, professional, customer focused, high quality service is provided.

Responsibilities

To be responsible for the overall management of a patch of Council tenancies and other housing assets and the coordination of a range of housing services to individual tenancies, estates and communities in accordance with council policies. To closely liaise with all customer-facing teams to meet business and service objectives, maintaining excellent working relationships
To effectively liaise with external individuals and organizations to maintain excellent customer service and a high standard of environmental conditions across the patch
To assist colleagues and demonstrate flexibility and contribute to effective team work
To promote tenancy sustainment, community cohesion, social inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities through the delivery of housing services
To maintain an awareness and assist in the delivery of directorate strategic plans, divisional plans and directorate and corporate strategies
To make effective use of information and communications technology in service delivery
To ensure the maintenance of a healthy safe and secure working environment through ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
To be responsible for maintaining appropriate relationships and partnerships within and beyond the Council
To understand and ensure compliance with relevant legislation in relation to council policy including data protection and confidentiality requirements
To be responsible for developing own effectiveness through personal development
To participate as required on projects related to the housing management service
To be an effective member of the Tenancy and Estate Management Team with particular responsibility for the delivery of the housing service.
To provide contact, advice and guidance to customers within the framework of the tenancy agreement in line with policies and procedures and its enforcement.
To manage and prioritise own workload to ensure the efficient running of the patch
To produce patch performance information for the team manager as requested and contribute to the setting of periodical targets
To achieve service targets
To be responsible for the management of tenancies from sign-up to termination including tenancy sign ups, post tenancy checks, home checks and tenancy amendments and pre-termination checks
To identify, monitor and take necessary action against breaches of tenancy conditions including anti-social behaviour in accordance with legislation, policy, procedure and guidelines
To liaise with service providers to housing management and assist in monitoring service level agreements as required
To provide elected members and MPs with information to carry out their democratic and/or governance responsibilitiesSkills/Qualifications

To have a minimum of five GCSE (grade C or above) or their equivalent, including English.
Hold or be prepared to work towards a relevant Housing professional qualification.
Have undertaken or be prepared to undertake appropriate management training.
Evidence of on-going personal development.
Be able to demonstrate significant operational housing management
Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of accepted good practice in service delivery within the social housing sector.
Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of accepted good practice in service delivery.
Be able to demonstrate personal planning and prioritising work to meet competing deadlines.
Be able to demonstrate experience of personal contributions to service improvement.
Be able to demonstrate experience of performance monitoring and improvement.
Be able to demonstrate having worked in a customer environment and given good service.
