Purchasing Manager
The Role - The Company are growing and with a 5-year ambitious plan this growth will continue. We are looking for a cost-conscious procurement manager to manage the day to day purchasing operations. We are looking for a product savvy professional who can drawn on their experience to deliver innovative ways to save money whilst putting our green packaging focus at the heart of all the company does.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute new improved procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing
- Source suppliers of Raw Materials and identify savings
- Source alternative suppliers for packaging and components, bench-marking with the current pricing structure
- Agree and set process with suppliers for Company budgeting
- Purchase packaging, components and raw materials
- Negotiate and establish favourable service level agreements with suppliers
- Place orders with suppliers to ensure a smooth supply of correct goods and materials are available to call off to meet the manufacturers timelines
- Work closely with the Company planning Manager to ensure seamless supply of raw materials and packaging for production.
- Analysis and advise order patterns with current suppliers and identify savings.
- Provide monthly forecasts to suppliers
- Effectively manage packaging and raw material stock levels including safety stock and MOQs
- Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
Personal Skills
- Highly analytical individual with strong stakeholder influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Organised and handle multiple tasks at once
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers
- Use initiative
- Have good attention to detail
Skills/Experience
CIPS (Desirable but not essential)
Candidates from a Packaging or FMCG background WITHIN Purchasing would be highly advantageous
