We now have an exciting opportunity for a Technician, to work as an integral part of our specialist Prosthetics and Orthotics team based in the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre in Selly Oak.
This is a permanent position and as standard the core working hours are 39 hours a week on Monday to Friday.
About the Technician Role:
The Technician supports the smooth running of the service by manufacturing, repairing and adjusting a wide range of prosthetic and orthotic products, specifically designed to meet the individual patient's needs.
This is a fulfilling and challenging role for a proactive individual who thrives in a customer focussed manufacturing environment, producing and modifying specialist equipment precisely and effectively. We very much welcome applications from experienced prosthetic/orthotic technicians who are looking for a new opportunity. Due to the unique, specialised nature of the role, specific experience in prosthetic/ orthotic manufacturing would be beneficial. However, training will be given to meet the successful candidate's requirements.
Technician Requirements:
- Ideally, you'll have previous experience of working in a similar manufacturing or engineering role
- Practically minded

- Focused and flexible in your approach
- Ability to maintain high standards while operating in a pressured environment
- Reliable team worker
- Excellent communication skills and be able to be trusted to complete tasks accurately and to deadline
You will use these skills to interpret information supplied by clinicians to undertake manufacture of, and repairs and adjustments to patient's prostheses and orthoses using a wide range of appropriate materials and tools. Working closely with clinicians, other technicians and management, you'll ensure the product meets the patient's individual needs.
