Essex Personnel Recruitment is looking to hire a Night Support Worker to work part time basis in one of our clients residential homes in Kirby Cross. The service users suffer from mental disabilities such as autism and can exhibit challenging behavior at times. The ideal candidate should have had previous experience in similar setting and will ing to take his/own initiative.

Job Summary

Provide support during the night for adults with learning disabilities who may require support to manage their physical, sensory or emotional needs as per their support plans and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policy, procedure and regulations.

Provide support and supervision through the night to adults with specific health care needs as per their support plans and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policy, procedure and regulations.

To attend to the personal needs of the residents who require this support and carry out checks on the service users as per their support plans and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policy, procedure and regulations.

Key Tasks Include

Make regular checks of clients as per support plan and answer alarm calls promptly.

To action as per the fire policy and procedure if fire alarms are activated. All waking night staff is expected to attend at least 2 fire drills per year.

• To ensure accurate recording on residents night logs.

• To undertake various duties i.e. ironing, sewing, domestic duties in accordance to the waking night agenda but on the basis that the home is not disturbed and Night Support Workers remain available to any resident requiring assistance.

• Night Care Assistant's main responsibilities are of the care of the residents and any other task must not be allowed to inhibit the ability to respond to their needs.

• To complete accurate and precise log reports of the service user's progress throughout the night.

• To administer and record prescribed medication according to the homes policies and procedures. ( only night staff who are trained to administer medication and have completed a competency assessment)

• To record all accidents and incidents involving service users as per the home's procedure and to report any accident/incident at the handover period.

• To attend staff meetings supervision and appraisal sessions as and when required.

• To attend mandatory and any other identified training in accordance with the companies training policy and procedure.

• To adhere to company policies & procedures, including mobile phone policy and dress code policy
