Customs and Trade Compliance Supervisor

Job Description

We are currently looking for a new UK Customs and Trade Compliance Supervisor to join our EMEA Trade Compliance organisation based at a distribution centre in Rugby, Warwickshire.

We are looking for a diligent and experienced open-minded team player with proven track record in Customs, Trade Compliance and Team Leadership. Hands on attitude and ability to deal with change management. Ability to manage direct as well as dotted reporting lines. Strong communication skills are essential.

Job Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the completion of daily customs entry processing (Import/Export/Transit) via SAP GTS
Regular communication with various departments of HMRC, external logistics providers and Customs Brokers.
Acting as a Trade Compliance subject matter expert & collaborating with various local, regional and global business stakeholders to ensure compliance with Government and Customs regulations
Assisting in the training and further development of trade compliance team members and supporting the Trade Compliance systems and programmes.
Ensuring the UK Trade Compliance team meet all company, HMRC and other UK government commitments and deadlines to include CFSP month end, AEO certification, Customs Transit, OPR etc.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, we are looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

At least five years of experience in international trade is essential, primarily in Customs related activities with a full understanding of Incoterms 2020, Tariff classification and Customs valuation rules.
Must be fully aware of differing Customs Import and/or Export regimes, including full SAD, Simplified procedures (CFSP), Transit, AEO certification and previously have submitted Customs declarations via standalone Customs declaration software, ideally SAP GTS or other similar HMRC certified systems such as Descarte or Ricardo
Ability and flexibility to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)
Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
