At Jewson we pride ourselves on our ability to provide a great welcome to our customers, being proactive when helping them, being trusted, and recognised for our 'customer first' approach. If you enjoy an autonomous role building strong relationships with customers and can capitalise on existing and future business opportunities, this Customer Development Manager role could be a great opportunity for you.

The Customer Development Manager is managing the on-boarding and development of new and key accounts across a regional cluster of branches. The ideal candidate can be based around the North Devon/Somerset area. You'll also assist our external team on converting large, often complex live quotes into profitable opportunities for the Business Unit and wider Jewson brand.

Key day-to-day duties include:

On-board all new accounts within the Business Unit, ensuring they receive excellent customer care and continue to choose Jewson.

Manage and convert large/complex quotes via the Business Unit sales pipeline, with a keen focus on our Build Aviator estimating service.

Develop and maintain key customer relationships, proactively contacting customers and working with our internal & external sales functions.

Provide detailed customer insights to the Sales Manager to identify new opportunities for development.

What skills are we looking for?

First and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working; this means that we are open to applications from all Saint-Gobain businesses and would welcome you to apply if you can demonstrate the following key skills:

Demonstrable experience within customer facing roles.

Commercial acumen and the ability to develop and execute effective sales plans and campaigns.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with branch teams to ensure customer relationships are managed across the business unit.

Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills, with a structured and organised approach to your work.

Knowledge of building materials and pricing methods - highly desirable.

Please note that product and system training can be provided where applicants may lack this knowledge. We encourage applications from all background if you can demonstrate the skills highlighted.

The world of work is changing, and at Saint-Gobain we are open to new ways of working in order to attract talented people to our business. We understand that everyone has different needs and commitments. Therefore, we are very open to discuss any flexible requirement or need that you may have for this role.
