Supervisor

A leading Highways Maintenance company is looking to recruit a Supervisor in the Colchester area. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising numerous sites. The purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of Highways Repairs and Maintenance. To be responsible for the direct control of operatives and individual work sites, to carry out all works in a safe and cost-effective manner in line with company policies, processes and procedures, to achieve customer satisfaction.

Key tasks and accountabilities:

To work safely and promote a safe environment for all operations for all personnel under your authority and others who may be affected by the Company's activities such as the general public
Front line responsibility for service delivery of routine maintenance works, winter maintenance and emergency response activities including standby duties as required
To supervise the operational teams in line with productivity and quality targets and to produce weekly costs and value using bespoke software
To monitor the skills and experience of operatives within the teams and work with Area Manager to plan training and development
To work closely with the Plant and Fleet Department to manage the vehicle and equipment assets at best efficiency. It is the Supervisors responsibility to reduce vehicle damage incidents and promote a culture of valuing the company's assets
To actively foster a positive team spirit
To actively promote and use the bespoke software available to deliver the service requirements
As the Supervisor your will have:

Experience of managing Traffic Management and Vehicle Restraint Systems
Winter Maintenance experience is ideal
Experience supervising minor works such as surfacing, drainage
Knowledge of papyrus, CPA and Sap
CSCS
SSSTS
High speed network experience
Driving licence (HGV desirable)
Extra product training will be given
MS Excel skills
MS Outlook skills
Client / customer facing experience
Personal qualities;
Easy to talk too, approachable, good at working under pressure and to programme
