They now need to make the key hire of a Production Supervisor / Cell Leader on and ongoing basis.

Reporting into the Area Leader the Production Supervisor / Cell Leader works hands-on within the manufacturing team; up to 15 associates. You will provide support, direction and focus to meet the daily and weekly plans. You will work with other functions including Manufacturing Area Leaders, planners, technical and quality assurance associates to ensure the resources, skills and equipment are in place to accomplish business goals.

Some of your core responsibilities should include but not be limited to:
* Communicating goals & expectations of the team, and of individuals within the team
* Coordinating activities to meet the daily plan & ensuring tactical team resources are in place (skills, attitude, tooling, equipment, materials)
* Recording & communicating production progress issues
* Ensuring good quality throughout all aspects of the process/area, and consistent delivery of products; addressing non-conformance reports and variations
* Identifying team skills and skill gaps and working to close these with leadership & training function
* Owning 5S, continuous improvement & quality activities for the team & work area
* Creating an engaging work environment and helping to foster a LEAN mind-set
* Ensuring that all EH&S requirements for the area are met, including risk assessments, procedures, training, incident investigations, audit corrective and preventative actions
* Handling performance & development discussions, disciplinary and compensation feedback
* Communicating goals & expectations of the team, and of individuals within the team
* Ensuring good quality throughout all aspects of the process/area, and consistent delivery of products; addressing non-conformance reports and variations
* Tracking all holidays and absences - and take into account the needs of production when authorising holidays.
* Close communication with his/her leader on all of the above topics is crucial.

Key Skills required for this role:
* Demonstrated ability to gain followership & coordinate/lead teams
* Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot production
* Recording & communicating production progress issues
* Ability to develop and set priorities, execute plans and consistently produce the desired results

We are looking for bright, motivated and modern leaders. This will suit Production Supervisors, Production Team Leaders and Cell Leaders from a range of manufacturing backgrounds. Ideally you will be experienced in the manufacture, assembly and build of small piece part assemblies, electronics/PCBs or precision electro-mechanical, soldered or cable assembly type products. However, full technical training will be given. What's more important is your leadership style, desire and a genuine enjoyment out of leading people. Given the manual assembly nature of a complex range of products, the Production Supervisor / Cell Leader will need to be very hands on and happy "doing" the job rather than grandstanding.
