Are you looking for a Permanent role with an opportunity to grow with a market-leading and rapidly expanding parcel delivery business?
Staffline is recruiting for Parcel Sorters and Loaders to work out of a brand new depot in the Castleford area.
The rate of pay is GBP9.22 p/h.
This is for a Sunday morning shift starting at 4am, typically between 4 and 7 in length, but you will be required to be flexible to meet the demands of the business.
Other shifts are available across days and nights.
All rotas will be confirmed and in place for the full 12 weeks until you are taken on permanently, unlike other agency positions you will know what shifts you are working so that you can make plans.
Training and inductions to start immediately.
Your Time at Work
The Parcel Sorter/Loader position at our client site in Castleford is responsible for the loading and unloading of vehicles and the sortation and scanning of parcels into cages.
This role requires the manual handling of both small and large items and sacks, physical as well as mental agility is needed.
About the Role:
You'll report into your Shift Supervisor and Nightshift Manager, where you will be part of a shift that processes a large volume of parcels. Depending on which shift and what day, it may be anything from 40,(Apply online only) to 100,(Apply online only) parcels in a shift.
But don't worry you won't be tackling them alone!
You'll work as part of a team and use some really smart kit to help you sort all those parcels efficiently. You'll use Hand-Held Terminals (HHT's), pump-trucks (once you're trained) and work on fancy conveyor systems that bring the parcels to you and then you will sort them in to smaller "collars" for certain areas and postcodes.
This isn't an easy job and at times you will have to deal with large volumes but then there will be times when the volumes are lighter and you'll have chance to gain new skills and experience.
