A roadmap of innovative product developments mean that we need to expand our Engineering team with additional expertise.
Purpose of the role:
Working as part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for the product hardware design used in the company's range of class leading DAS products. Work would be in the context of developing new products or supporting existing products as part of a small multidiscipline development team. The incumbent will be expected to lead the design and planning of new products from the hardware perspective.
Scope of the role:
Specification, planning, design, development and test of the hardware in the Fotech DAS System
Leading the identification of solutions to issues in the overall system
Working with the Head of Engineering, CTO and System Architect to propose, implement and evaluate changes and enhancements
Working with the Production Team on new product introductions and existing product maintenance
Interfacing with, and management of, external suppliers and contractors
Responsibility for leading system certification and safety testing activities
Reporting of progress and issues to Engineering management and company leadership
Active participation in the development of Engineering and company-wide process improvements
Skills & Experience:
Design of hardware products from specification through to production
Mechanical design including thermal analysis, IP ratings and EMC
Must have worked on technologically advanced products or systems
Experience with optical product development would be an advantage
Qualification of industrial or IT equipment for EMI/EMC, Safety and Environmental compliance
Experience with hardware programming, Linux operating systems, IP networks
Familiarity with configuration management tools for control of code and documentation
Personal attributes:
A self-starter who takes responsibility for their own deliverables whilst contributing to and working within a team
Coordinating the activities of small teams of engineers
Enjoys a fast paced/agile development environment
Works well within a highly diverse/interdisciplinary team
