At Select Hospitality Cambridge we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Sous Chef. The client is a stunning 18th Century, fresh food pub restaurant, bar & function venue on the outskirts of Cambridge serving a mix of traditional English and light bites alongside a very busy takeaway and function operation.

I am looking for a strong passionate chef, who is used to working in a busy fresh food operation, someone with a passion for cooking everything from fresh daily.

The business is very popular with locals, regulars and destination customers, as well as business guests.

The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work across all sections in the kitchen, including the lunch, dinner & function menus. The client is looking for a Sous chef who is happy to be involved with menu direction, and new dishes, team training & stocktakes, you will also get the opportunity to be heavily involved with the daily changing specials menu.

The ideal candidate will come from a busy fresh food background, have a good understanding of menu writing & costing, stocktakes, full due diligence and be able to run the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to work a variety of shifts covering weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
