Job Description
Job Title: NHS Pathways Trainer (Non Clinical).
Salary: GBP23,000
Responsible to: Head of Operations
Hours of work: Rotation of shifts over 4 week period - Including days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Main purpose of job: To oversee and be responsible for the day-to-day and ongoing audit, coaching and training as required with NHS 111 Staff.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
This role will support the Clinical Practice & Training Lead NHS Pathways in delivering all aspects of training in relation to NHS 111. However, the post holder will also carry out audit, coach and operational shift support as required.
Trainer Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for preparation and delivery of Pathways Core Module Training and Local Training.
2. Be able to receive and deliver constructive feedback following peer reviews during training.
3. Follow lesson plans which detail the training objectives.
4. Be able to adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles.
5. Be able to adapt resource materials and align to updated practice guidelines.
6. Be flexible with training requirements which may change according to service needs.
7. Be flexible with operational requirements in order to support NHS 111 staff as and when required.
8. Maintain training records and process assessment results as per NHS Pathways Licence.
9. Act as a Course Director when required on any courses .
10. To comply with the training section of the NHS Pathways Licence.
Audit Responsibilities:
1. To work self-directed and assist with the required number of audits per month where needed.
2. To follow the audit process as set out in the audit policy.
3. To complete the necessary audit documentation and file accordingly.
4. To liaise with 111 Training Lead, Head of Operations, Senior Co-Ordinatiors Audit team regarding any audit issues.
5. To highlight any safety issues with Line Manager/Supervisor immediately.
6. To report on Datix any significant issues which affect patient care.
Coaching Responsibilitie
1. To mentor all members of staff and audit live calls, where appropriate.
2. To give feedback appropriately and effectively.
3. To conduct a coaching session with motivation and follow NHS Pathways principles at all times.
4. To ensure all staff are consistent with policy and procedure during all live calls.
5. To communicate with Auditors/Line Managers where necessary.
6. To complete the necessary documentation in line with the coaching role.
7. Comply with the storage of training records as per policy.
8. To evaluate the coaching session and decide if further action is needed.
9. To liaise with auditors and line managers regarding follow up action plans.
Operational Responsibilities:
1. To maintain operational duties according to the rota as requested.
2. To complete any other reasonable requests from Head of Operations
