Production Operative (Metal Prep)

Cooksongold is a leading global supplier of precious metals in gold, silver, platinum and palladium alloys. We are the UK's largest one-stop shop for the jewellery maker.
As a Production Operative in the jewellery industry, you will be responsible for the cutting and weighing of precious metal. Working in a team of 9 and reporting to the Team Leader, you will test your ability to meet and prioritise tight deadlines and build your experience in the manufacturing of precious metals.
In return, we will provide you with on the job training, guidance and the support you need to build on your existing expertise.
Your duties will include:
- Ensuring all individual metal orders are selected, cut and weighed accurately, quickly and efficiently in accordance to the customer order
- Ensuring all individual metal orders are fulfilled with minimal defects
- Maintaining consistently high standards and quality from receiving the order, up until dispatch
- All paperwork is accurately completed, including correct documentation of materials used
- Adhering to housekeeping standards at all times
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in the production / engineering environment
- Ability to follow specific processes and procedures quickly and accurately
- Flexible, reliable and conscientious, with the ability to work on their own initiative and with a team
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Good manual dexterity skills and eye-hand co-ordination
- Excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills
- Knowledge and experience within the jewellery industry would be desirable
Hours of work:
Total 37.5 hours per week, with a working pattern of Monday to Friday 10.00-18.00 and a 30 minute lunch break each day.
The closing date for this role is the 30th September 2020.
