A vacancy has arisen for a Production Operative based at our Ewhurst site in Ockley, Surrey. Due to the site location, own transport is essential.

The Role:

Working as part of the production team you will ensure optimum production targets; minimum waste and the highest levels of consistent quality are achieved. In addition to this you will ensure safe working at all times with a right first time every time by everyone attitude to produce a cost effective, quality product whilst adhering to the Company's policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

?? Loading and unloading various vehicles

?? Operation of forklift trucks

?? Completion of all associated paperwork

?? Carry out the necessary machinery operations / supported tasks in line with Company requirements

?? Follow all Standard Operating procedures (SOP'S) and assist in reviewing these when required

?? Operate various pieces of factory machinery and equipment; reporting any problems regarding production immediately

?? Ensure that you have a good working knowledge of your work area and that this is kept clean and free from obstructions and waste, maintaining a good standard of general housekeeping

?? Liaise with the Team Leader to ensure a smooth and efficient production flow

?? Take ownership and responsibility for the area you are working in or task you are performing

?? Complete all relevant paperwork associated with the task you are performing in a timely and accurate manner

?? Ensure that you are aware of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and that you adhere to them at all times

?? Maintain a positive working atmosphere, by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with colleagues

?? Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve your efficiency

?? Take care of equipment used while performing a job

?? Cooperate with supervision and fellow employees

?? Actively take part in any training requested to enhance your role

?? Safely carry out all manual handling in the correct and trained manner, working safely and following all safety rules at all times

?? Perform other duties as required by your line manager

?? Stock yard counting

?? Factory cleaning tasks

?? Assisting the QA department

?? Helping out production where and when needed

Skills & Experience:

?? Experience within a manufacturing environment and the ability to work as part of a team within a target driven environment is essential

?? Physically fit as the role involves a significant manual handling and working outdoors in all weathers

?? Valid current FLT licence / with previous experience operating mobile plant is preferable as this role can includes loading and unloading lorries in the stockyard

?? Appreciation of Continuous Improvement Production Processes

?? Knowledge of health and safety at work

?? Team player

?? Safety conscious with good general safety awareness

?? Adaptable

?? Be able to carry out a broad range of tasks across all areas of the manufacturing process

?? Literate as there is some paperwork involved

?? Good general safety awareness

?? Excellent attendance and time keeping

?? A can-do attitude and strive to meet higher targets

?? An understanding of QA standards and the importance of achieving consistent high quality in manufacturing

Hours of Work:

7.00am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday
