An exciting opportunity for experienced individuals to join our growing Procurement Team.

About the Team

The Commercial Team - People Services is responsible for the procurement and contract management of 800+ Adult Care and Community Wellbeing contracts/settings, with an extensive work programme planned for the next five years. The programme includes Adult Social Care Services, Public Health and support to Children's Services. The combined annual spend of this activity is over GBP300 million p.a. and the programme includes a very diverse range of individual Procurement, Contract Management and Market Development projects. The team is accountable for ensuring contracts are commissioned, procured, and managed in a way that ensures value for money at the same time as ensuring a safe, effective and positive service is delivered to all vulnerable people in Lincolnshire.

About the Role

The role sits within the Procurement Team - a growing team - which supports the wider Commercial Team - People Services. The team has a wide area of responsibility, which includes the provision of procurement advice, offering challenge to the way existing services are commissioned and procurement project management.

Reporting to the Commercial & Procurement Manager, you will develop bespoke procurement and contract documentation which will deliver appropriate cost effective outcomes for the Council, and ensure positive outcomes for the vulnerable people of Lincolnshire. .

To be effective in this role you will be:

  • Educated to degree level or hold an equivalent Professional Qualification;
  • An expert in public sector procurement;
  • Commercially minded with a good understanding of getting good value from contracted services;
  • Able to develop and maintain strong working relationships;
  • An effective communicator, with strong negotiation skills; and
  • Forward thinking and keen to embed new ways of thinking and working.
