RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a Ship Management Company in their search to recruit a Purchaser with purchasing experience in a Ship Management environment for our Paisley office.
This is a very exciting environment to be working in as our vessels are trading worldwide and no two days are the same.
The Purchaser will be responsible for the daily sourcing, processing and delivery of spare parts, stores, provisions, chart publication updates and service requisitions.
Duties of Marine Purchaser will include but not limited to:
* Working closely with the Superintendents to undertake an efficient purchasing function.
* Prioritise and organise daily purchasing requirements.
* Source, process and delivery of spare parts, stores, provisions, chart publication updates and service requisitions for all vessels.
* Send daily emails from office to vessels to update them on all relevant information.
* Responsible for following purchasing procedures.
* Ensure completed Port Activity is sent to vessels 48 hours prior to arriving at Port and also received 48 hours after the vessel is sailing.
* Daily liaison with agents and suppliers worldwide.
* Work closely with freight forwarder to ensure freight schedules are on track.
* Ensure all paperwork for supplies is accurate.
* Double-check costs meet agreed quotes.
* Ensure all budgets are adhered to.
* Build effective relationships with all members of staff.
* Always relay important messages to relevant departments in an accurate and timely manner.
* Work with all relevant systems to provide an excellent service.
This is a key role within a fast-paced environment. You must be highly organised, efficient, with excellent communication skills and good administration experience. Be proactive where attention to detail is very important due to the nature of this role. Be able to cope while under pressure and be able to demonstrate accurate numeracy skills and be very process-driven.
Due to the requirements of the job, the successful candidate will be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of Glasgow.
Applicants must hold the current, full and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
