Community Recovery Worker
Reference number: 62.20
Based: Exeter
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £18,685 to £23,230 per annum depending on experience
Contract: Permanent

In this role you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating service users to engage in the recovery programmes we offer in Devon, as well as become involved in the communities they live in. Day to day duties will involve delivering a range of interventions including key-working, strengths based assessment, and structured group and 1:1 work. You will also be required to liaise effectively with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key working and access to appropriate services.

What they’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll have experience working in a similar role, including undertaking assessments and delivering a range of evidence based substance misuse psychosocial interventions in 1:1 and group-work settings. You’ll have a good understanding of group working and group dynamics, and will be able to demonstrate competent group work facilitation skills. You’ll be comfortable dealing with the emotional content of sessions and constructively challenging the behaviours you see. Some knowledge and understanding of mental health issues would be helpful.

In addition, you’ll be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and will be confident managing your own priorities in order to carry a diverse workload with competing demands. You’ll be keen to develop professionally and, just as importantly, will have a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive recovery focused attitude.
