Our Bakkavor site in Highbridge, which is one of our four Desserts sites specialises in Cheesecake and Tarts.

Summary
Bakkavor Desserts Highbridge is looking to recruit an Engineer 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off, this is a great opportunity to become part of the Bakkavor Group with great progression opportunities and a real opportunity to make a difference through continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities

• Ensure all engineering maintenance and repair work is carried out within all statutory health, safety and environmental guidelines to ensure efficient performance of all plant and equipment. Ensure that near misses are raised and actioned accordingly.
• Actively respond and provide good communication to provide effective and efficient service to production and other departments
• Manage contractors including issuing work permits and auditing their work
• During weekend cover, ensure that daily inspections on all buildings, plant and equipment security and safety devices are fully operational and are compliant with all relevant legislation.
• Ensure that you actively carry out all PPM equipment inspections on time as dictated by the PM system and ensure there are accurate and timely records for all work carried out including root causes of failures and spares and consumables used.
• Strive for continuous improvement by identifying areas / opportunities for operational improvement, and communicate these appropriately to the maintenance supervisor
• Ensure operating and maintenance manuals, diagnostic instructions, equipment and all special tools are readily available to all engineering staff
• Ensure engineering workshop areas are kept clean and tidy, and company issued equipment is complete and in good condition
• Input all completed works to a high level of detail onto the Agility system. Ensure any follow on works are to be passed onto the lead engineer to add as an open works order

You will currently be working in a mechanical or electrical engineering that can use their own initiative and enjoys continuous improvement.
