Lead Technical Author

The Role:
Our engineering client is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Author. The successful candidate will join their busy publications teams to ensure customers have documentation for our clients extensive product range.

Lead Technical Author duties will include:-

Creating technical documents and incorporating changes and updates when required.
The Lead Technical Author will maintain relationships with business service providers.
Managing the review and approval process for updates to publications.
Writing technical content for a wide range of publications from detailed technical Data Sheets to comprehensive Case Studies.
Liaising with internal departments and supporting continuous improvement.
The Lead Technical Author will be managing a small team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Lead Technical Author will ideally be able to demonstrate the following:
A background within a technical publications role
Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a technical subject or a minimum of 7 year's experience in a publications-related role
The Lead Technical Author will have experience of running a team/department
Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
The ability to provide accurate and concise written and verbal communications.
Experience using InDesign, Structured FrameMaker and Illustrator software
The ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision.
An awareness of the translation process for provision of publications in multiple languages.
