The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for Support Workers to join our teams in Derbyshire. These roles are on a Relief, zero hours basis and are ideal for candidates who like the flexibility that these contracts allow. Shifts will be based on rota and will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and waking nights.

As a Support Worker you will provide high standards of care and support for service users, in line with care and support plans, compliance with CQC regulations and the organisations policies and procedures.

You will also provide care and support for service users, encouraging them to do as much as possible for themselves in order to develop and maintain their independence and physical ability. Whilst also ensuring a healthy, safe and clean environment for service users in their home and encouraging their involvement in achieving this.

The ideal candidate

We need Support Workers who are confident, caring and committed to promoting the independence of our service users. It's hard work but very rewarding. Have you got what it takes?

Are you:

  • an effective communicator with a flexible approach to work?

  • aware of health & safety issues within supported living, registered care and nursing?

  • able to work within service users homes or nursing homes whilst respecting the need for confidentiality and a professional approach?

  • aware of Equal Opportunities when supporting people with learning disabilities?

Qualifications

Desirable to already have QCF in Health and Social Care - Level 2, or the care certificate or the willingness to work towards it.

DBS

You will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check for this role, which we will complete for the successful candidate. As the role is exempt under the rehabilitation of offender's act 1974, please can you ensure you detail both spent and unspent convictions on your application form.
