Systems Engineer
Guildford, Surrey (or Remote)
Up to GBP50K/pa plus bonus & benefits
Fullstack London is currently working with a Global IT consultancy, assisting with their search for an experienced Systems Engineer to join their growing team. This role can be onsite or performed remotely.

Reporting in to the International IT Manager, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that server infrastructure and associated systems of the International business run smoothly and provide a secure and stable platform for business operations. The role will also entail working with the IT Manager in investigating, designing and implementing new solutions to resolve business issues and further the company's long term strategic objectives. Core Skills:
- An in depth understanding of Microsoft operating systems, including all versions of Windows server from 2008 onwards, Windows 10
- Detailed knowledge of core server technologies and domain configuration and management, including DNS, DHCP, AD GPO and Powershell
- Strong skills in ADFS and domain trusts
- Good understanding of SAN architecture and implementation
- Good knowledge of Azure AD
- Detailed understanding of VMWare and HyperV technologies
- Excellent knowledge of Office 365 security/migration/integration
- Exposure to management solutions such as SCCM, Ivanti, Elastic
- Experience in managing remote infrastructure across multiple timezones
- Experience of ISO 27001 and change control processes
Duties:
- Maintain and support both on-premise and cloud based infrastructure
- Configure and support domain and AD infrastructure
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with Applications, Network, Server, Security and Hardware environments
- Review long term trends, identify future capacity or performance issues and recommend and take appropriate preventative action. Look for proactive opportunities to resolve issues before they impact IT systems and services
- Ensure server infrastructure is fully patched and maintained.
- Configure and install infrastructure hardware and software, including physical servers, SANs, VM solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up to date infrastructure documentation
- Investigating and recommending technical solutions to business needs
- Work with the global infrastructure team to implement large scale solutions across an international organisation.
Experience Required:
- Experience of proactively maintaining a complex, multi-site, IT infrastructure
- Experience of creating and implementing procedures covering IT maintenance, monitoring and support.
- Experience in supporting all elements of a complex infrastructure, including AD federation and domain trusts
- Experience of implementation of new systems
- Good oral communication and presentation skills
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and correspondence and present complex information in an easy to read format
