Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Salary : GBP35-40k per annum
Location: Salisbury
Permanent

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the QEHS Manager for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function. You will be working in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all Product requirements.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer your duties will include:

Coordinate with purchasing department to monitor supplier performance, generating regular reports and administering corrective actions as necessary
Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
Complete supplier and performance audits to enhance process standardization and waste elimination
Resolve non-conformance issues with supplied materials and follow up with suppliers for completion of corrective actions
Work with the supplier directly, create correction action plans to address process failures
Develop standards and requirements for purchased components
Support new product launches, ensuring compliance with established standards
Evaluate supplier data to initiate process improvement opportunities along the supply chain
Inspect products and manufacturing environments to identify potential issues
Support the QEHS Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance
Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
Assist with first off sample approvals

The successful Supplier Quality Engineer will have the below experience:

Degree in engineering field, or 5 years of equivalent experience
Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing process and production equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to write technical documents
Knowledge of quality system methodologies, such as Pareto Analysis, FMEA and Lean
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Excellent in-house and external communication and liaison skills
Trained Internal auditor (ISO9001)
Must hold full UK driving licence
Knowledge of quality management systems
Lean Manufacturing knowledge
Knowledge of measurement techniques, Metrology, Inspection Methods and Equipment
