Job title: Specialist Journalist (Health)

Location: Scotland

Do you have in-depth knowledge of the health sector, a passion for quality journalism and the ability to tell stories that matter to people?

Do you want to be part of the collaborative team, working in an exciting newsroom covering Scottish health stories that can shape the public discourse and shine a light on healthcare provision in Scotland?

You will ensure The Scotsman and our sister titles have a voice on the key issues affecting our audience and your passion for and knowledge of the health sector will shine through in your opinions and commentary on the biggest issues affecting the people of Scotland.

An influencer, able to shape and react to the news agenda with expert insight, you will immerse yourself in the Health category, develop contacts and produce exclusive content that attracts and retains digital subscribers.

You will be an ambassador for our brand, using your social media presence - and opportunities to appear on broadcast media - to engage in the national debate and promote our content and brand values to audiences across Scotland.

Skills/experience

* An experienced journalist, with an NCTJ qualification or equivalent experience and an understanding of the IPSO code

* Authority in the field of health

* Able to understand and react to digital analytics

* Accurate and engaging writer

* Able to create engaging digital Multimedia

* Able to present information in an engaging way
