Where?

This position offers the successful candidate a fantastic opportunity to join the team at one of our luxury residential care homes, Grimston Court, set in secluded private grounds on the outskirts of York. This impressive manor house was built in 1903 for Sir John Hunt by esteemed local architect Walter Brierley. A Grade II listed building of considerable historical value, we are extremely proud to maintain this grand Jacobean-style country home to the highest standards.

Due to the location of Grimston Court, ideally candidates with a driving license and access to a car is preferable. However, there may be opportunities for car sharing with current staff.

The role

We're looking for an experienced Team Leader who will deliver a quality of care and support to our residents, you will lead a team of Care Assistants to ensure that the physical, social, psychological and emotional needs of our residents are met.

The role, reporting to the Home Manager involves; effective supervision and leadership of a team of carers to deliver person centred care, building professional relationships with key internal and external personnel, clear precise documentation, training and mentoring, medication management and administration.

The ideal candidate would be:

  • Empathetic and passionate about delivering excellent care,
  • Have good communication, organisation and leadership skills
  • You must be calm, flexible and able to adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Trained to NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or had prior experience of nursing or home management
  • Experience of supervising a team of people
  • Flexible as there may be times when you're required to cover other shifts
