Excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Technician to work in a leading science environment offering exceptional employee benefits.

We are now seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our team within the machine shop of the manufacturing facilities.

To produce unique, bespoke components in a range of standard and exotic materials, to meet the specification set.

As a member of the team you will play a key role in the development of the facility and work closely with design engineers and scientists to provide a manufacturing solution to support the requirements of the experiment. You will focus on conventional machining, both turning and milling, and will have experience in both surface and cylindrical grinding, final product assembly and sign off.

To be successful in this role you will have completed a Certified Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and/or have significant proven work experience.

You will have a proven track record in the manufacture of prototype, small batch components using manual machines and have experience of ability of self-certification of quality with the use on manual inspection equipment.

Experience in CNC machining, programming and EDM is desirable, but not essential.

STFC (Science and Technology Facilities Council) value their Technicians and support continual improvement where applicable.
