Seven Social Care are looking for an Agency Lettings Officer to work in Cambridge

The role:

1. Develop and maintain a good understanding of the aims of the single homelessness service / social lettings agency project, and its current processes. Contribute to the development of new processes as Town Hall Lettings expands.

2. Under the guidance of THL management, take primary day-to-day responsibility for the administration of the letting agency. This will include developing and maintaining systems which record and anticipate key events like rents due, the creation and termination of tenancies, tenancy inspections, annual gas safety checks and other site visits, payments to contractors, payments to landlords and the collection of fees and rent deposit protection.

3. In support of the above, maintain a central office diary.

4. Write, and update as necessary, THL's financial and administrative procedures

5. Assist with the rent-in-advance / rent deposit scheme and take charge of the billing and recovery elements of the scheme.

6. Receive and respond to written and verbal communications from landlords, statutory and commercial partners, tenants and members of the public, contractors and fellow officers.

7. Produce reports as necessary, including financial reports.

8. Become familiar with the Council's system for credit-checking prospective tenants and carry out credit checks as required. Collect credit-check fees.

9. Attend meetings as necessary, including occasional site meetings and evening events.

10. Ensure the effective use of IT to deliver the service, including maintaining an effective electronic filing system.

11. Become familiar with the key duties of the housing advice service coordinator role and ensure that this officer understands your own the key responsibilities. Provide cover for this officer by arrangement and in the event of unplanned absence.

12. In consultation with your manager, take responsibility for reporting key performance indicators.

13. Play a key part in the programme to procure privately-rented accommodation.

14. As stated, THL is a developing project which may involve carrying out duties not presently foreseen. It is therefore vital that you take a mature and flexible approach to your work, carrying out other duties in accordance with the grading of the post, as directed by your line manager.

Applicant Requirements:

- Qualifications: N/A.

- Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.

- Compliance: Current DBS check.

- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

- Hours: 37 hours p/w.
