Samuel Frank Associates is now recruiting for a Systems Proposal Engineer who has a demonstrable track record in industrial controls, PLC software and ideally some experience in estimating project work and building and presenting proposals to customers. The key is to be an Engineer first and then a Proposal Engineer second.

The Systems Proposal Engineer role will involve managing the full bid process from start to finish. The reason the role requires an engineering background is because that once the tender has been developed, this person will handover to engineering and possibly get involved as far down the process as writing the functional design specification. Experience of how a software system is put together with a wider understanding of the whole system will be good knowledge to have.

Key types of experience for the Systems Proposal Engineer position include -

• Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally with a background in PLC and SCADA programming
• Proven track record of having led and participated in successful automation/industrial control bids
• Commercial knowledge and business acumen
• Demonstrates professional and personal credibility and the ability to build strong working relationships with clients
• Proficiency in developing, managing, and reporting on bids
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Possess a full UK driving licence.

The client expects that once the successful Systems Proposal Engineer is up and running this position is likely to require you being in the office in South Yorkshire a couple of days per week, at home a couple of days per week and the remaining day on customer sites - this is a rough guide.
