The Senior Manager, Pharmacology directs, leads and manages a proportion of the Preclinical Pharmacology team and manages/oversees non-clinical Pharmacology projects from conceptualisation and study design through to study report finalisation and subsequent scientific publications, and inclusion in regulatory documentation.
Responsibilities:
Direct, lead and manage a proportion of the Preclinical Pharmacology team Manage non-clinical pharmacology studies as determined by the needs of the organisation Provide strategic input into functional goals and activities Propose, manage and revise (as appropriate) timelines for pharmacology studies and programmes Ensure preclinical pharmacology studies are run in accordance with the appropriate company, CRO or researchers SOPs, relevant regulatory guidelines, legislation and departmental processes as required per study Maintain good working relationships with relevant key opinion leaders and AROs Supported by Preclinical Operations and in collaboration with other Preclinical Managers, is accountable for timely and effective management of the Preclinical Pharmacology budget Define and manages all Preclinical Pharmacology study/programme resource needs and establishes relevant contingency plans Manage the material requirement for the Pharmacology studies to ensure that materials are always available Manage and provide technical input into scientific reports from CROs/AROs Contribute to regulatory, pharmacovigilance and medical affairs documents as required to meet corporate needs Contribute Function and/or Programme Teams as determined within the governance matrix structure With support from the Associate Director, Pharmacology and Preclinical Operations team, is accountable for devising, agreeing, implementing and monitoring pharmacology team departmental processes and governance structures Develop the Preclinical Pharmacology team via training and/or opportunities Lead (or delegates) appropriate training to educate relevant GW employees with regards to Pharmacology as required Operate in an inclusive manner and demonstrates awareness of the benefits of diversity Requirements:
PhD required Strong industry experience in a similar role Extensive research experience in Pharmacology department of a pharmaceutical company or equivalent Knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug development process Relevant experience in scientific writing for externalisation and regulatory purposes Competence in budgetary control and management Strong and proven experience in managing a high performing team Proven ability of high functioning in a matrix organisation Organisational skills, proven time management ability and the ability to effectively prioritise Ability to use initiative and problem solve Ability to lead, direct, manage and develop others Good communication skills Written and verbal presentation skills Excellent attention to detail Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Endnote, search engines and databases used for literature searches, and relevant scientific software (e.g...... click apply for full job details
