Machine Operator / Setter

GBP22,000 - GBP29,000 per annum depending on experience

3 Shift Pattern (6-2, 2-10,10-6)

Permanent Position

Based in Hereford

Due to a recent expansion, my client are looking to recruit several machine operators / setters / technician's.

Duties

To ensure that best setting practices are maintained and that all machines are set correctly, and that part quality is correct to standards as laid down by the Quality Department. Where necessary issues to be reported back to Q.C. Department.

Responsible for ensuring that first offs are submitted in a timely manner, and that there are no delays in getting machines in to production.

Responsible for setting Robots, where there is no programme in existence. Programme to be documented on completion.

To monitor cycle times ensuring that none are outside the standard. If necessary bring to the Technicians attention any out of tolerance cycle times which cannot be corrected by level 2 or level 1 setter.

It is the responsibility of the level 1 setter to ensure that all safe working practices are maintained by the setting team, especially the safe shut down and start up procedure. This includes any signage required for these practices.

The safety checks should be carried out by Level 1 setter, but should there be any period where this is not possible, then Level 2 setter will deputise.

Level 1 setter is responsible for ensuring that all jobs identified to run have current setting sheets, and are configured to the correct detail. Any setting sheets that are not available, must be notified to the Technician. Setting sheet to be produced and logged on to the system, by the Technician. Any detail changes that are required must be reported to the Tool Room.
