Summary of the Role:

As Location Transport Manager you will have responsibility to manage the safe and cost effective utilisation of all drivers and equipment within your location, ensuring that the customer service requirements are fully met and in line with the business objectives of Hoyer Petrolog UK.

Our ideal candidate will be able to perform well under pressure and have experience of dealing with difficult situations where resolution has been required. You will be able to organise your own workload and set priorities and actions to reach objectives, being able to plan and optimise time efficiently and effectively. Safety is integral in this role and compliance is essential, therefore, you will be required to complete duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety policy. You will be responsible for KPI's including location spends remaining in line with budgets and fuel efficiency ensuring that contract specific targets are met or exceeded. Past experience of working in a unionised environment would be beneficial.

Hours of work: 9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

Requirements:

Essential: The successful individual will -

  • Hold a full UK driving license.
  • Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a management role.
  • Track record of demonstrating and delivering Continuous improvement.
  • Be proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office - Outlook and Excel
  • Experience of using resource management software
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Have excellent people management skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Have a good use of intuition and problem solving skills for productive outcomes.
  • Have the proven ability to maintain high standards of decision making in a fast-paced changeable environment.
  • Have an understanding of Drivers' Hours Regulations.
  • Have experience working in the transport industry.
  • Live within a commutable distance away (45 minutes).

Desirable: The successful individual will:

  • Be educated to degree standard (or equivalent) all disciplines considered.
  • Be CPC qualified, or hold other transport industry qualifications.
  • Be emergency response trained.
  • Have experience working in the transport industry.
  • Have experience working in a unionised environment.
