Our client is a manufacturer of products that are engineered completely in-house, using the latest design software tools to create bespoke products to client's specifications. Our client is now looking for a Supervisor for their Fitting Shop who possesses strong people management skills and can deal with high pressurised environments.
Reporting into the Production Manager the Fitting Shop Supervisor will lead and manage the team who assemble electrical control panels and assemble metal work to ensure that production targets are met.
Main Duties of role:
Manage, lead and mentor a team of fitters in order to complete the orderbook to delivery deadlines
Manage the overtime requirements
Measure the hours in order to improve efficiency within the team
Prepare and check work ready for sign off
Complete relevant paperwork and reports
Monitor hours taken on each job in order to meet targets
Ensure compliance to company quality, health and safety standards
Liaise with other departments as and when required
Ensure and promote good housekeeping within the team area
Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations on how improvements could be made
Promote and manage continuous improvement for the work area.Experience:
Proven experience managing or leading a team of 8 or more direct reports working within a manufacturing environment
Stong people management, including working to targets and deadlines, motivating staff and remaining calm under pressure.
Strong decision-making capability, with the ability to delegate where necessary
Knowledge or experience of Lean Manufacturing
Knowledge of Copper Busbar would be advantageous
Good communication skills with the ability to work well at all levels and liaise with different departments
Ability to demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills
Proven experience of identifying areas and making recommendations for continuous improvementBenefits:
