Key skills and experience as a Horizontal borer
Large boring/ 5 axis Milling - upto 20 tonne cases
Horizontal floor boring machine or 5 AXIS Machining centre
Heidenhain controls - Essential
ISO programming so need to know G & M codes
Offline programming would be advantage
Automatic tool measurement
5 axis - not simultaneous - CNC
Separate rotary table
Machining 1 off high value [500K] components up to 8 meters long
Apprentice trained.
This Horizontal borer position will start on regular days whilst training and then move on to 3 shifts or continentals
Working 37.5 hours per week, this position will involve working either 3 shifts (6-2, 2-10 & 10-6) or a continental pattern, allowances are paid on both shifts, details below:
3 Shift Allowance: 25%
Continental Allowance: 50%

In a nutshell:
You will earn between GBP46,000 and GBP53,000 (BEFORE OVERTIME) once you are comfortable managing the whole machining process, this usually takes 18 months but will depend on how quickly the candidate gets up to speed.
