Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for our client who is a fast growing logistics company who are now looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join their team.
To be considered for the role you will must have 2+ Years' experience working within a similar role and express a can do attitude. Applicants must be able to work on their own initiative and be able to come in and hit the ground running.
You will be responsible for managing your own customer portfolio, from acquiring the business and following it through to completion, either on own fleet or via preferred sub contractors.
The right candidate will be able to follow the job through from start to finish and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience of the logistics industry.
My client is looking to speak to people who have UK specific logistics experience rather than oversees.
Required Experience
* Minimum 2 years experience operating in a similar role winning business, dealing with customers, negotiating rates and utilising sub contractors
* Sound geographic knowledge
* Sound understanding of current market rates
* Sound commercial awareness
* Good negotiation skills
* Ability to bring on and manage own portfolio of customers
* Ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently
* Ability to manager subcontractors and own fleet
The Role/duties
* Selling the business to prospective customers
* Quoting and tendering for work when required
* Dealing with customers and relevant issues on a daily basis
* Liasing and booking loads with other hauliers
* Working within a team to maximise office effectiveness
* Planning daily work via Roadrunner transport system
* Updating the admin team with relevant details for adequate support
Benefits
* Basic salary of GBP28,000 - GBP35,000 DOE
* Competitive commission structure (OTE GBP45k Year 1)
