Windows Specialist Required**
Windows Specialist
Location: Initially remote but Chester / Camberley in Q1
Initial Duration: 9 Months
Rate: GBPCompetitive Salary - Fixed Term Contract (no day rates)
The Role
As the Windows Specialist you will be joining an established team who are responsible for the design and implementation of all midrange servers within the EMEA region for a large refresh of the Microsoft Stack.
This includes but not limited to migration and upgrades projects related to Windows servers, Citirx & SQL platforms.
You will be responsible for delivering individual components required to deliver the server based aspects of a project and work within the team on general build projects orientated around Windows and RHEL based application and infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expert for key Vmware and Windows server based technologies
Delivery of remediation activities for technology due to become non-permitted in 2019, working with application owners to remediate vulnerabilities prior to company deadlines
Initiative project delivery and implementation
Partner with the Business Technology Groups to design products that add value for clients
Adhere to Global Technology and Product Standards
Emerging Technology Research and Development & Strategy for value added services
Business Liaison and Technology Consultancy for business and technology partners
Management and resolution of issues escalated from support or development teams
About You
Experience of Ansible
Powershell, PowerCLI and python experience for automation scripting would be an advantage
Experience of working within a regulated/corporate environment, supporting 2000+ server across multiple locations
5 years' plus experience in Windows based architectures (Windows 2008R2/ 2012R2/2016/2019 Server to design level)
Previous experience of Windows 2008 Remediation
Strong knowledge of HP, Dell and IBM hardware
RHEL7/8, Active Directory, Citrix7.5, exposure would be advantageous
Experience in Financial Services
Thorough and well organised, able to handle multiple high volume migration schedules.
Strong communication & team building skills
