An exciting opportunity for an ambitious qualified electrician to join a UK manufacturing company.
The company are keen to expand their business and the Estimating Electrical Technician is a key part of their ambitious growth plan, expanding their market share in existing markets and moving into new markets such as EV charging. The role is based primarily in Bradford with further travel to visit customer premises.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate will be required to plan, design and deliver outdoor electrical installations to a range of specifications for street lighting, electrical distribution and EV charging.
The role involves working with local authority clients and their electrical contractors.
The candidate will be required to analyse initial requirements, read drawings and wiring diagrams, price the project getting cost from component and switchgear suppliers, produce quotations for the electrical enclosures, and ultimately build the electrical panels.
The role will involve the successful applicant both designing and building wired cabinets to the client provided specification and designing new specifications to meet the client brief. Installation on site will be carried out by the client, and whilst meetings may take place on site, no site work is envisaged.
The successful applicant will be suitably electrically qualified and competent, technically strong, able to produce wiring drawings and quotations with good commercial awareness and ability to liaise directly and professionally at all levels.
Evidence of qualifications and experience of using electrical design software will be required.
Good interpersonal and telephone skills are essential as the candidate will be the face of the business to the clients. As such the successful applicant will be required to meet clients from time to time, to deliver accurate detailed costings, maintain customer records, liaise with the clients in a professional manner, have good commercial awareness and deliver client projects to a high standard, on time and in budget.
Time will be split between the office and time in the workshop, with the right candidate having strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise work, proactive with a high degree of self-motivation and entrepreneurial acumen. The role whilst technical, is part of the sales function and applicants with additional sales or customer facing experience are particularly encouraged.
