We are looking for a Ground School Instructor to join our flexible and supportive team based in RAF Valley, Anglesey. The primary purpose of this role is to provide specialised training in accordance with an Authority approved Ground School Training School (GTS) syllabus process and programme excluding AV Med and Met training tasks, but including post-ejection and survival training.

Due to the nature of delivery, flexible working arrangements are available with both full time or part time contracts considered. Whether you live close to RAF Valley or further afield, we would be keen to talk to you if you have significant interest in this role.

What you will be doing:

- Managing the Process and Programme of the Authority's Ground School Training

- Instructing Authority approved students in (primarily Hawk T1 and T2) Ground School and SERE training

- Planning and conducting aircrew post ejection survival continuation training (land)

- Managing, planning and conducting aircrew survival training for (primarily) Hawk T1 and T2 (dry drills, pool drills and sea drills)

- Managing aircrew continuation training in the utilisation of survival aids

- Complying with all current Environmental Protection (EP) requirements

- Maintaining Ground School equipment, offices and classrooms

- Managing Authority-provided clothing and equipment for post ejection survival training (land)

- Maintaining an inventory of GFE and GFF

What we are looking for:

Preferred:

- SERE (USI(L) and USI(M)) - pre-exisiting qualifications preferred however full training available (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape)

Essential:

- 3 years Hawk technical experience, NVQ Level 3 in Aircraft Engineering Maintenance or received military aircraft technical training in aircraft systems or equivalent civilian training

- 3 years recent formal technical instruction experience and capable of operating modern teaching aids and equipment

- DTTT Qualified / Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (Formerly CTLLS) or higher (Level 4 is civilian and non-aviation specific)

- High attention to detail and well organised

- A high energy, hands on, proactive approach

- Excellent communication skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check Clearance

- A full UK issued driving licence free from disqualifications - D1 Category preferred (but not essential)

- Health and Safety, First Aid at Work Qualified (training provided)
