Purchase Ledger Clerk - Immediate start required for maternity cover

Experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk required to provide support to a small established team. Established over 100 years our client is a market leader in their field.

The main purpose of the role is to accurately maintain the purchase ledger and conduct all associated duties in a timely manner and within deadlines.Reporting to the Ledger Manager duties will include:

* Creating accounts for new suppliers and maintaining existing account details

* Ensure accurate maintenance of the purchase ledger system

* Processing purchase invoices with accuracy and matching to purchase orders

* Regular reconciliations of supplier statements

* Dealing with invoice queries in an effective, professional and timely manner

* Processing business expenses immediately ready for payment

* Accurate maintenance and general house-keeping of all ledgers

* Managing the filing systems efficiently, accurately and archiving when necessary

* Other ad hoc duties

* Ensuring good relations and communications with all colleagues and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external enquiries

* Maintaining confidentiality of the department and using discretion where necessary

* Complying with all company policies and procedures including Health & Safety

* Pro-actively encourage and help co- workers when necessary

* Assisting with other departments when required

* Maintaining good relationships with employees throughout the Company

We are not limiting this search to any industry however previous experience is essential and you must be available for an immediate start:

* Good IT skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages

* Excellent numeracy skills and data entry skills

* Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines

* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and good interpersonal skills
