Benefits

We all love the sound of employee benefits right?

But how often are we actually putting them to full use? Personally I was flying the flag for us at SR2 to use a popular benefits provider (a box of perks) only to get my way and???never use it.

I think part of the reason for us not using our benefits is - they're all in different places, you've got your pension in one place, healthcare in another, a box of perks somewhere else. So trying to administer them becomes cumbersome.

Thankfully there's a solution - and it's a South-West based SAAS company who's built it. They've built a platform so you can view all your benefits in one place. What's more, you can make changes to them - wanna increase your pension contribution, go ahead, want to add someone to your healthcare plan - you got it. All in one place. Easy.

The same Bristol-based SAAS company are right npw looking to hire a developer with a particular set of skills - a combination of PHP & JavaScript (they are open to weighting) and AWS. To explain???

They are looking for someone who (as well as development) can maintain the AWS systems and perform routine updates. So not a devops engineer by any stretch. They've listed the role as a full-stack (PHP + JS) dev role, but in reality it doesn't actually need to be full-stack. If someone wanted to lean toward the back-end, or front-end that would be okay. You'll just need to be open to doing these routine updates and will have worked with AWS previously.

They're not a dictatorship, thankfully - the CTO is a super down to earth guy who I've shared a coffee or two with. Bloody lovely bloke. Your voice will be heard and you'll be involved in the decision making process as far as future development, infrastructure, planning, delivery etc are concerned.

It'll be fun - largely. Like any dev role there will be some gnarly bits, some less exciting code and some really exciting code but you'll be around great people with a shared vision. They're a reasonably sociable bunch so expect the odd trip to the pub or outing. They've actually won awards for their culture which is pretty cool. I've also placed devs with them who are happy which is a good sign!

Working arrangements right now are fully remote. They'd like some office time post covid but it's likely to be limited to a few days PW

In return for your efforts you'd get a salary of GBP40-45k and being a SAAS company in the benefits space it would be abit strange if they didn't offer benefits. They offer:

Life assurance
A healthcare plan
Pension scheme - 3%
Onsite parking (for those days you need to turn into the office - won't be that often)
Loads of deals with retailers and the like
Fruit on tap
A gym - onsite
Cycle to work
28 days holiday
A benefits fund to spend on whatever you like
