Caretaker / Maintenance Assistant
Stoke-on-Trent
40 hours per week
GBP10.00 per hour (rising to GBP10.60 after completion of 6 months probationary period)
Our client Host are looking to recruit a Caretaker / Maintenance Assistant to carry out general caretaking, cleaning and security duties on a student city centre development consisting of 140 bedrooms and 30 lounge/kitchens in Stoke-on-Trent.
The position is 40 hours a week Monday - Friday and will involve weekend work at certain times of the year.
These duties will include:
*
* Carrying out repairs across the site
* Reporting faults
* Mandatory health & safety checks
* Cleaning of stairwells
* Security
* Making access arrangements for contractors and prospective new tenants
* Liaising with residents and office staff in order to maintain the development to a high standard.
The successful candidate must be:
* Able to demonstrate experience in a similar caretaker/maintenance role
* Self-motivated
* Able to work on their own initiative
* Able to prioritise workloads and respond to emergencies when called upon.
For this position previous relevant experience is desirable. You will need good communication skills together with a caring, responsible and flexible approach.
