Exciting opportunity to be instrumental in driving the own and owned brand packaging strategy and innovation pipeline for Holland & Barrett the market leading wellness specialist. The purpose of this role is to lead our global packaging strategy & development. Driving forward our packaging sustainability strategy will be a critical part of the role, continually finding better ways to reduce the environmental and ecological footprint of our own brand packaging through its life cycle. You will also be a guardian of the Brand Visual Identity.
Your role will be to manage the design, technical specification and global compliance of new packaging keeping the customer at the heart of decision making. You will liaise with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure all packaging is developed to meet consumer needs and optimised to the right cost, quality and within agreed timescales.

Key accountabilities:

• Leading the packaging innovation & sustainability strategy & plans
• Bringing innovation and creative solutions to develop a wide and varied range of products - balancing consumer preferences, product needs and sustainability considerations to deliver optimum packaging solutions
• Working with external design agencies and our inhouse design studio to provide technical feasibility assessments to establish and maintain our brand visual identity (BVI) for our good, better and best product tiers
• Developing products which are compliant for our global markets and can withstand our global supply chain
• Using technical knowledge to proactively liaise with suppliers to identify & implement LEAN product/process improvements
• Managing key stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met
• Identifying and effectively managing all packaging and manufacturing technical risks, acting where necessary to ensure products meet Holland & Barrett quality standards and current legislative and regulatory requirements

You will be:

You will ideally have:

• Minimum of 3 years packaging development experience
• A proven track record of developing packaging from design concept to market, ideally within an FMCG environment
• Excellent knowledge of key packaging technologies, print processes, artwork and origination and latest innovations in sustainable packaging
• Ability to manage risk, priorities and overall timings for complex technical projects
