Our client is a leading international chemical distribution company distributing natural and chemical raw materials, additives and speciality chemicals.
They wish to appoint an experienced sales manager with experience of selling elastomers and/or related additives to compounding and rubber processing industry.
Primary Objectives:
* To manage customers both commercially and technically through regular contact and develop and implement a strategy for profitable sales growth.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide technical and commercial support to customers through customer visits.
* Closing sales opportunities effectively and efficiently.
* Identifying new customer opportunities and product applications.
* Developing, monitoring and achieving sales pipeline.
* Reporting competitor information and pricing.
* Provide accurate and timely sales forecast.
* Meet sales budget and supplier targets.
* To undertake market surveys as requested.
* To establish, manage and update Customer product sales price lists as appropriate.
* All customer price lists should have supporting data in the applicable costing programme.
Candidate Requirements:
* The successful candidate must fully understand the rubber compounding sector, know the broad range of applications in the industry and have a technical understanding of this range of products.
* A knowledge of the Composites industry would be an advantage.
* Sales experience on elastomers and/or related additives.
* Ideally a technical qualification in polymer technology (rubber specific), ideally to degree level.
* Good communication skills and the ability to negotiate prices and contracts and take decisions.
* Must be willing to travel regularly, visiting customers across the UK & Ireland.
* Driven to deliver on an individual level and as part of a team.
* Highly organised, strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills.
