SEMH Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Learning Support Assistant
Required from September 2020, we have a couple of schools in the Leicestershire area that are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants who have exposure, experience and training (preferable but not essential) of working within settings dealing with pupils or young people with challenging behaviour.
All schools we deal with are either state maintained or Independent Special Need Schools (SEN).
The age groups dealt with across these schools are normally split into phases so if you have worked with pupils or young people between the ages of 3 years to 21 years, we want to hear from you. If you have experience of working with pupils on the SEMH, EBD, ASD or MLD spectrums or are a Teaching Assistant who has a keen interest in getting to this area of education, Degree Six can offer you many opportunities to consider. Have Team Teach training would be advantageous but is a desirable for the roles we have to consider. The schools or Degree Six would be able to provide this training should you not have it or need an up-date.
Teaching mainly within the KS3/4 age ranges, due to the nature of SEMH, EBD, MLD and ASD, these positions may have an element of teaching to KS2 levels. Therefore, our schools are looking for committed individuals who can foster and develop the abilities, social skills and understanding of their pupils.
For these positions, the successful candidates will have/or will be a candidate ready for the next steps in their careers. This is due to the schools being able to offer opportunities for development should you wish to be considered
