SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD
Our school is an state maintained primary school providing specialised education for children aged 4 to 11 years who hold Education Health Care Plans (EHCP's) and Individual Education Plans (IEP's) for Special Educational Needs for Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD's). They are looking for 2 SEN Teaching Assistants with ASD experience to take on permanent and temporary roles ASAP from September 2020.
Assisting the pupils and Teaching mainly within the KS2 age ranges, due to the nature of ASD, these positions may have an element of teaching to KS1 levels. Therefore, the school is looking for committed individuals who can foster and develop the abilities, social skills and understanding of primary aged children.
For both positions, the successful candidates will have/or will be candidates ready for the next steps in their careers. This is due to the roles having a certain amount of management required as well as your normal Teaching Assistant duties. The roles will also include attending, participating and the supervision of performance management. You may be from time be asked to deal with other outside agencies and attend meetings relating to the pupils needs and further development.
