If you're a talented Photographer with experience photographing breaking news stories then we would love to hear from you. We have two positions currently available based in Devon/Cornwall.

As a Photographer you will be responsible for producing the highest standard of creative photojournalism to supply images for our titles and our multimedia platforms.

In the role you will report to Head of Pictures, with a dotted reporting line into local content editors for daily decision making. This role will involve close liaison with a number of individuals, including the Head of pictures, night picture editor, picture desk staff and reporters.

Key Duties:

• To photograph live breaking news stories, features and live sport on assignments
• Work closely with others concerned with a story, such as journalists and picture editors, and agree the photographic requirements for a story
• Prepare and send digital photographs for newspaper publication and online to deadline
• You need to be where the story is, so expect to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends, especially working on live news
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge about current news stories

Candidate:

• Be able to shoot digital pictures and video for use in print and on our multimedia platforms and operating lights and backdrop/screens
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience of taking pictures, using initiative to deliver strongest quality images for use
• Media law training
• Familiar with IPSO and editor code of conduct
