Trafford Housing Trust’s software development team builds & supports a range of products using the latest Microsoft Tooling, including:
- A number of websites (e.g. www.laurushomes.co.uk, which combines the latest google maps APIs along with typescript, CSS, HTML, C#, Umbraco and integration with Dynamics 365 CRM, and www.traffordhousingtrust.co.uk).
- Digital online service for customers (e.g. My Account (https://youtu.be/-RAZMgRCWxw)
- A number of internal business applications.
We are currently looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our growing team.
Our Team
We are a small team of developers and our mission is to develop products and technology that will serve the needs of our tenants and internal customers. What you will need to bring to the table is more than your technical skills – your unique perspective, ideas and culture will help us create better products for our customers
What you will do:
We currently have an opening for a front-end developer that allows you to use your creative talents in our dynamic, fast-paced environment to design, improve and keep up our websites from layout to function. You’ll have the opportunity to become a major contributor and work with different departments on various web projects.You will need to:
- Hit the ground running from day one
- Own and lead our front-end development, shaping our products and processes to be industry-leading
- You will work closely with our inhouse digital marketing team (including UI/UX designer), bringing their designs to life.
- Measure and improve site performance from a technical angle
- Write light-weight web pages that will load quickly and not keep our customers waiting too long
- Work in a sprint but also manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
- Introduce to the team some of the latest technologies that you have used or would like to use like e.g. docker, Kubernetes, frameworks.
This role will also provide the opportunity to mentor or manage junior members of the team
Skills we are looking for:
- Strong front end developer who can take wireframes and convert them to actual working web pages.
- Hands-on experience in using current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance optimization, accessibility, and usability.
- Verifiable experience in building, optimising and performance improvements of websites.
- Experience in designing customer journeys
- Knowledge of SEO
- Verifiable mastery in html, CSS (with BEM notation would be great), bootstrap, Sass, Visual Studio code, JavaScript, Typescript, front end build pipelines…
- Experience of debugging using JavaScript-based tools like Chrome Developer Console
- Experience of using code versioning tools, such as Git or Azure Git and Azure DevOps
- Other great front-end ideals, tools and frameworks that you have used would be beneficial.
- Good problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
