Java Developer
Are you a junior or mid-level Java Developer looking for a fresh challenge where you will be working on the development & deployment of cutting edge Java based web applications? Are you keen to work on projects for household name clients? Do you want to work in a positive, dynamic & flexible working environment (working from home but meeting up for team meetings every now & then)? If so this role could well be for you.
Working across a product range of 6 or 7 enterprise level Java applications you will design, develop & deploy their solutions to new clients & their existing customer base. You will also provide high level application support when needed.
Salary: GBP35k - GBP40k basic + full benefits
Location: Working from home but ideally 'home' is in the East Midlands, (would be perfect if you are in the Derby or Nottingham area but we can be flexible on this)
Background & Tech
You are a passionate software engineer who is able to sit down with customers to define their requirements & then write well designed, very testable & highly efficient code!! Ideally you have a good Front-End skill set with experience using JavaScript & ideally Angular.JS. You are at home in an Agile environment and have proven experience with hands-on development, troubleshooting & continuous integration.
What you will need to bring to the table
Proven development experience using Java J2EE - ideally some Java 8 or 11.
Some Javascript (ideally with Angular.JS or similar frameworks), HTML5 & RESTful web services.
Good knowledge of Jenkins (or similar like Bamboo & Travis), Camel (or similar messaging e.g. Kafka) & SQL/NoSQL.
Experience defining requirements with stakeholders.
Comfortable and at home in an Agile environment.
Any exposure to web based Java products like Alfresco CMS, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Backbase, OpenText ECM, Liferay, HP Teamsite, Oracle WebCentre Sites etc would be a huge advantage.
