Job Title: Infrastructure Support Engineer
Location: Birchwood, WA3
Salary: Up to GBP32,000
A market leader in the provision of Integrated Stores and Supply Chain Management Solutions for Blue Chip Companies in the UK and Europe, My client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer to work in their busy Head office based in Warrington.
Working closely with our Clients and key internal stakeholders throughout the UK and Ireland, you will provide outstanding service to resolve customer IT and technical issues quickly and efficiently, providing the best possible experience. You will be responsible for supporting Microsoft server technologies, Windows desktop and MS Exchange environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. You will play a key part in the delivery of new infrastructure projects.
Job Description:
To escalate IT issues to the Enterprise Architect & Infrastructure Manager where necessary
* To take responsibility for configuring backups of databases and virtual machines
* To restore databases and virtual machines from backup
* To diagnose and resolve technical issues
* To undertake IT projects as instructed by the Enterprise Architect & Infrastructure Manager
* To provide desktop and server support
* To install authorized software to servers
* To ensure security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date
* To manage antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
* To resolve faults and maintain logs on servers * To configure the telephone system
* To ensure the patch wiring in the server cabinets is maintained
* To create purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
* To ensure licensing for all software purchased is recorded and maintained
* To exchange server maintenance including deployment of patches and service packs
* To configure and maintain Group policies within Active Directory (AD)
* To perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Enterprise Architect & Infrastructure Manager
* To provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
* To ensure a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers
* To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature of the job role Skills required:
* A positive attitude with the ability to deliver excellent Client experience and satisfaction
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient planning and organisational skills with a methodical and logical approach
* Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
* A passion for technology with the ability to learn quickly Knowledge required:
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems
Working knowledge of Office 365
* Sound knowledge of MS Exchange, Active Directory (AD) and VMware vCenter
* Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching
