The role of the Accountant will include recording all company spending, including purchases, invoices and sales and provide accurate information on company outgoings for the purposes of filing accounts. Implementing financial systems and processes, tightening financial controls, and ensuring all accounting records are up to date and show a true and fair view of the company's financial position. Completing month end procedures, weekly cashflow management, producing monthly management accounts and divisional reporting along with annual financial statements for all group entities.
Job Requirements
Accountable for delivering an accurate trail of company spending, preparing accounts and cashflow. The accountant is responsible for the variety of activities that can include:
* Management of sales ledger, debtors and credit control alongside the SL Manager
* Maintaining sage accounts, verifying, and posting transactions daily
* Managing supplier invoices & payments weekly for all group companies
* Daily cash management and preparation of weekly cashflow statements
* Bank Reconciliations for all Group company accounts
* Completing VAT and tax returns for all Group companies
* Preparation of monthly management accounts to a tight monthly deadline
* Produce month end and year end journals and maintaining accurate balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
* Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
* Prepare statutory annual accounts and assist with R&D tax credit reports at YE also
* Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
* Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
* Liaising with customers, suppliers and banking contacts
* Preparing KPI schedules monthly
* Assisting with payroll if required
The post holder
* Must have due regard to Connected Health's current management arrangements for Data Quality. All employees have a responsibility to ensure that the data they collect, manage and report, including data from third parties is accurate, valid, reliable, relevant, complete and produced in a timely fashion to aid sound decision making and that appropriate procedures, systems and processes are in place to provide quality data.
* Must work in accordance with the Connected Health's policies, procedures, information, instructions, and/ or training received.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
* A minimum of 3-5 years' experience as an Accountant in a fast-paced growing industry with a turnover of at least GBP5mil
* Possess AAT qualification and/or at least part qualified ACA, CCA or CIMA
* Strong bookkeeping skills and ability to adhere to tight reporting deadlines each month
* Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, including relationship building with individuals across the business
* Highly computer literate with experience of accounting packages and excel models and reports
* Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently, using a logical and methodical approach
