Role: Test Engineer
Location: West Sussex
Salary: GBP45,000 - GBP50,000 approx. with benefits
My client based in West Sussex are looking to hire Test Engineer.
Summary of the position:
Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.
Daily role:
*Ensure testability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use.
*Accurately estimate project costs as associated with implementing test solutions.
*Own the test requirements from the vendor to shipment to the customer.
*Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.
*Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment.
Key Skills Required:
*Must have strong problem-solving attributes.
*Able to operate a variety of electrical test instrumentation.
*Capable in hardware and software development.
*Strong at communicating with and influencing design teams, vendors, and customers.
Desired skills:
*Greater than 5 years of relevant design/development team and/or manufacturing support. Proven ability to methodically solve complex, technical issues.
*Demonstrated proficiency in NI LabView test application development.
*6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology
