Aston Services Group are currently recruiting for a brand ambassador to work as a "bradvocate" in the business improvement district of Bradford.

Bradvocate - A person who has a passion for Bradford city centre and the wider district, has a determination to see the city centre thrive and who is committed to going the extra mile to achieve a cleaner, safer, busier and better promoted city centre.


To patrol the Bradford Business Improvement District (BID) area daily providing a strong and informed visitor welcome and provide a regular pattern of interaction with city centre businesses. To ensure all environmental issues are reported through the correct channels including such as cleanliness, damage and disrepair, graffiti, flyposting, begging and other such low level anti-social behaviour. To assist the BID team and BID Operating Board in delivering the aims and objectives of the Bradford BID Business Plan.



3 posts of 30 hours per week working 6-hour shifts. The shift pattern will include weekends and some Bank Holidays as required to meet the needs of the Business.Operational hours are Monday to Sunday, typically 08:00 - 18:30 hours although there may the requirement for occasional late-night coverage in line with seasonal events and Night Watch Scheme projects.

Rate of pay will be GBP10 per hour subject to an annual review.


Permanent subject to an annual contract review for the duration of the BID which is currently due to end on the 30th November 2023. An extension may be granted in the event of a successful BID renewal ballot. 1 Month notice period is required.


Comprehensive training and induction programme to be provided.


3 Months.

As a BID Bradvocate, you will need to:

* Be a forward-thinking person with a positive attitude who is willing to go the extra mile, demonstrating the highest levels of customer service at all times

* Greet visitors, promote the city & provide useful information on how visitors can best spend their time whilst in Bradford city centre

* Work with fellow Bradvocates and other Colleagues, to ensure that events run smoothly, as well as promoting local events to visitors and businesses

* Engage with businesses located in the BID area, in order to provide regular updates on key BID projects and initiatives

* Liaise with agencies on environmental and anti-social behaviour issues ensuring that all issues are reported to the relevant department within the Council/Police or other as deemed necessary

* Provide support to the BID Project Officer, to ensure the smooth day to day running of the BID


To provide an instantly recognisable service by patrolling the BID area daily and in accordance with prescribed patrol techniques. To improve the visitor experience with the aim of making the city centre a place people enjoy visiting, thus increasing revenue to BID members. To visit BID business members daily, whilst also providing a high-quality visitor support service. In addition, you will be expected to provide basic First Aid and support provision including the use of the City Centre Beat radio & associated systems, assistance with missing & vulnerable persons and other services as dictated by operational matters arising. To ensure all issues arising are correctly reported to the relevant services and authorities and that the BID office is fully appraised of these and reference numbers for follow up


Intelligence Gathering:

??Information and attendance at briefings with the Council and West Yorkshire Police to keep appraised of developments and issues which are having an impact on the city centre

??Involvement and support of operations in the city centre delivered by partner agencies

??Evidence gathering and statement writing to support prosecutions relating to the Public Spaces Protection Order, Criminal Behaviour Order or any other relevant legislation


??To provide a presentable and highly visible meet & greet information service to visitors to the city centre

??To improve communication between the BID members and relevant partners within the city centre

??To visit a minimum 10 businesses daily to discuss business needs, discuss suggestions, security matters and record incidents, complaints or other feedback for the BID office

??To maintain a professional, friendly and helpful service at all times

??To attend regular team meetings and business crime reduction meetings


??To patrol on foot in accordance with a zoned patrol system

??To work as part of a small team

??To follow procedures regarding standards of dress

Use of technology

??To produce reports using PDA's and other appropriate IT equipment, for which training will be provided

??To update interactions and reports via Solomon, the BIDs CRM tool.

??To communicate via the City Centre Beat Radio Link system

??Utilise the SentrySIS system and liaise with the City Centre Beat (CCB) Bradford's Crime Partnership

Safety and Security

??To work with Police, CCTV and other partners to assist in the reduction of stock loss and antisocial behaviour

??To assist in the completion of recording and reporting offences

??To promote membership of the City Centre Crime reduction partnership and Night Watch Scheme

??To rigorously gather evidence from such as cleansing issues, anti-social behaviour, fly posting, graffiti, damaged street furniture, property issues, begging, street drinking etc and hand that over to the relevant enforcement services for action

??To provide events, festival and other BID support, which may require changes to standard rotas


??To comply with the Aston Services Group Employee Handbook

??To participate in additional projects as determined by the BID Manager or Project Officer

??To carry out surveys, distribute BID member information and local attractions media

??To use an appropriate degree of personal initiative

??To work on individual projects as determined by the BID
